Our full-time programmes start with a global orientation programme in London which will provide you with a comprehensive induction to the industry and ICAP specifically. It is followed by financial and technical training tailored to your role to help you develop the skills and knowledge you need. On returning to your region your training will continue whether it is joining a rotational programme across different business groups or working towards a professional qualification. Training and development will then continue throughout your career and is tailored to your needs.

Who we are looking for
A keen interest in the financial markets and a strong academic record are essential. You will be on track for a 2.1 degree or regional equivalent (3.0 GPA US). Our business is all about building and maintaining relationships with our clients so you'll need exceptional interpersonal and networking skills whichever area of the business you apply to. At ICAP we are genuinely interested in people who have the hunger, drive and ambition to succeed in our fast-paced, challenging and dynamic environment. You'll be well prepared and will have researched ICAP and the world of interdealer broking.

Training programme highlights

  • On acceptance of your job, offer you'll be assigned a mentor who will be on hand to provide you with advice and guidance throughout your career
  • Our global orientation programme takes place in London. By bringing the graduate class together it creates a global culture and helps you build strong and vital relationships with your peers which will help you in the years to come.
  • Following the global orientation you'll undergo intensive classroom training. This will consist of technical training in the financial markets and ICAP's products as well as personal skills, teambuilding and managing business relationships - all essential in helping you succeed in this industry.
  • You'll then return to your hiring region, some of you will undergo a rotational programme which will provide you with a good overview of our different areas and will enable us to jointly identify where your skills are best suited and ultimately your final placement
  • Candidates on the broking programme will perform desk rotations for 8 weeks, giving you the opportunity to experience different product areas
  • Candidates on the accounting programme will perform rotations for 12 months throughout various departments in the Finance division
  • Candidates on the Research programme will perform rotations throughout various departments in the research department
  • Depending on the division you are placed in, we will prepare you for your regulatory or professional qualifications. Full training and support is offered to assist you.
  • As part of the full-time training programme you'll also be involved in one of our community projects. Previous activities have included 'Flight for Site' where our graduates were invited to turn their fiscal skills to fundraising for the day. Clad in Action's signature fuchsia t-shirts, the willing crew stationed themselves at six major London mainline stations from seven in the morning to raise funds for blind and partially sighted people. Some of the team also spent the day fundraising at the London Eye, which was lit fuchsia in honour of the event. ICAP went even further, generously agreeing to go pound for pound with the budding brokers, double match-funding whatever they raised on the day.
