If you want to build a career at the cutting-edge of the financial markets and have the hunger, drive and ambition to succeed, there has never been a better time to apply to ICAP.
ICAP is the world's premier interdealer broker with operations in 32 countries and more than 4,300 employees globally. Through our voice and electronic networks we match buyers and sellers in the wholesale markets in interest rates, credit, commodities, foreign exchange, equities and equity derivatives. ICAP has an average daily transaction volume in excess of $2.3 trillion more than 40% of which is electronic.
ICAP has proved to be resilient in the face of the extraordinary financial environment and is well positioned to take advantage of the changes that are likely to happen in the restructuring of the financial services industry and our clients' business models. Our goal is to be the leading global intermediary and post-trade services provider in the wholesale Over-The-Counter (OTC) markets and by combining the strength of our people together with technology we aim to continue setting the standard for our industry.
An interdealer broker matches buyers and sellers in wholesale markets, so that deals can be executed by its clients. ICAP's clients include investment and commercial banks and they pay us a commission to complete a transaction. Access to a broker offers clients significant economies of scale in price discovery and liquidity by having a number of professionals covering each product and being in constant contact with a range of counterparties. The majority of markets in which ICAP operates rely on voice brokers to draw together liquidity, particularly in bespoke, less liquid products. More commoditised products are increasingly traded on ICAP's electronic networks. ICAP's combined solutions offers access to markets across all asset classes and all levels of liquidity.
ICAP covers a very broad range of financial products and services in interest rates, credit, commodities (including shipping), foreign exchange, equities and equity derivatives as well as data and commentary. We are active in both established and emerging markets and we have a strong presence in all major financial centres in EMEA, the Americas and Asia Pacific. Our largest offices are in London and New York and we have 15 offices in Asia Pacific, including Singapore, Hong Kong and Tokyo. We have recently launched our cash equities business in Europe, North America and Asia and expanded our Latin American operations by establishing our domestic Brazilian business with the acquisition of Arkhe Distribuidora de Títulos e Valores Mobiliários.
Going forward, innovation and technology will continue to change the market in ways we cannot imagine today. To retain a competitive advantage in this dynamic environment we need the right people, products and technology. Top-quality candidates with the right raw skill sets, ability, academic training and character will take our business through what will undoubtedly be another extraordinary period of innovation and expansion. This is an exciting time for ICAP and the market - we invite you to join our team and be part of our future.
