Before attending the Industry Insight programme at ICAP I had experienced in other areas of the financial market including derivatives trading and insurance. I was therefore keen to expand my knowledge of the market to find other possible career tracks in financial services. I choose ICAP as it was, and still is, the leading interdealer broker globally and would give me the best possible insight into the IDB space.
Having previously had a strong interest in the banking world the change in economic climate persuaded me to look into other areas of the market. What stood out most about ICAP was its ability to be successful not only during times of high market performances but also during the current financial crisis.
I spend a lot of time playing different sports for my university including rugby union and rowing, which helps make me a more rounded person and suits my character as I strive to do well at anything I commit to. I am also part of the OTC at University which helps build my organisational skills which are vital for any future career.
I have enjoyed learning more about the broking world, an area I was previously unfamiliar with, as well as meeting new like-minded people who I hope to keep in contact with in the future.
