"We have put this section together in order to give you all the advice you need about choosing a career at ICAP, how to prepare for our recruitment process and what to expect. Before you apply to ICAP we recommend you spend time deciding which programme and role is going to be right for you." Sally Fryer, Graduate Recruitment & Development Officer, ICAP plc

Before you apply to ICAP you must spend time deciding which programme and role is going to be right for you. We have full-time and internship programmes in voice broking, electronic broking, ship broking and accounting.

Our full-time programmes are suitable for students in their final-year of study, those recently graduated or career changers.

Our summer internship programme is suitable for penultimate-year (junior) students or those going on to do a one-year Masters course.

Our European internship placements are suitable for Continental European students who require a bit more flexibility with regards to the timing and duration of their internships.

Our Spring Programme is suitable for first or second year university students.

Hints & tips
  • Do your research - read the financial press and make sure you are aware of what is going on in the global markets, what's your opinion on economic trends, who's winning what awards, what's happening to ICAP's client base and competitors etc. You should be able to demonstrate that you have a proven and committed interest in the financial markets.
  • Form your own view about the role of interdealer brokers, why this is an interesting business and what is the potential growth in this industry.
  • Think about why you are suited to ICAP and specifically the role you are intending to apply for. How do your skills match the role on offer? What drives and motivates you?
  • Come and meet us - ICAP attends a number of careers events and this is your chance to meet us face-to-face. For more details go to our Events Calendar.
  • If you do not have a financial background we still welcome your application; however you should be able to articulate your interest in joining our world and be commercially aware.
